Our Projects

FCN is a network of organisations that benefit and contribute. The network brings together all types of organizations that are necessary for successful pro-poor fair climate projects related to climate change adaptation interventions while empowering communities that we serve.
The network binds Project implementers (grassroots) CBOs, NGOs in the climate change adaptation space, Local and International donor organizations and climate change adaptation advocates, The corporate world and Bodies with strong roots in communities such as Schools and Church organizations

Fair Climate Network is an initiative led by The Mbeere North Member of Parliament Hon. Geoffrey Kiringa Ruku that Brings together over 400 Community Based Organisations (CBOs) involved in Climate Change Adaptation, Water Resource Management, Smart Agriculture, Renewable Energy, Agroforestry and Other Sustainability and Climate related programs. Hon. Ruku is a climate change expert in his proffessional capacity and serves as The Patron of Fair Climate Network (FCN).

Agroforestry to mitigate climate change

Reclaiming catchment areas, Protection of springs & riverbanks and general afforestation through schools and CBOs ione of our main intervention areas. We are currently running a pilot with our partners the partners have facilitated offtaking of 100,000 tree seedlings from CBOs, We are distributing the seedlings through school environmental clubs and the general community for afforestation. Preparations are on high gear for mega afforestation efforts for next season.

Climate smart agriculture for sustainable development

Over 1500 smallholder farmers in Mbeere North Constituency translating to 2,563 acres farmland benefited from free local climate calibrated sorghum seeds from our partner PACJA in collaboration with EABL that guarantees market access for the farmers. This is in line with the FCN objective of shifting farmers to smart and sustainable farming. Plans are underway for a a bigger scale adoption after assessment of this pilot phase.

A very Lovely Welcome
to our Network

The particular focus of FCN is on pro-poor fair climate projects. These projects introduce energy efficiency and renewable energy techniques, agriculture, forestry, waste management and land-use related activities. All technologies and practices are appropriate for FCN projects, as long as they comply with the pro-poor fair climate objectives. We have a profound believe in the capacity building component that we are building from the bottom-up starting with school environmental clubs to the CBOs led by our principal partner Hanns Seidel Foundation..

We treasure our partners that have walked with us since our formative stages. The future is in our hands!
